…that you can get traffic in pretty much any market and turn that into profits within 90 days even if you don't have a product. If you do have a product well, you can also build traffic, get traffic, and turn that into profits outside of just your products. This is episode number six 74 and you just heard what we're going to be talking about here today on the podcast. This is a big one cause I truly believe that traffic is not going away. If you understand how to get traffic, how to get attention in your market, you can start to build that traffic almost immediately, like literally. You can start tomorrow after you hear this episode and then from there you can start to see profits potentially as early as 90 days and I have someone right now that has done this all right over the past 12 months and they're getting traffic and they've turned that into $1,000 per month. Now what we're going to do today though is we're going to go over exactly how you can do this.

02:12   I'm going to give you guys the step by step plan. All right. Now before we do jump into that, I wanted to invite you to an upcoming live virtual training. All right, so tas class.com that will be the page that you'll go to and you'll get all the information there. All right, so here's what we're going to do. All right, we are going to jump in here. All right, and we are going to get started. Now, if you're listening to this and you're like, Scott, I'm new. I haven't even picked my market yet. I'm going to give you guys a resource really quick and then we're gonna jump right in to this content as if you do have your market already selected. 04:01   Then from there you're also able to start planning and validating that you're going to be able to build out these assets to get traffic and then from there, how to turn that into profit. Whether that's your own physical products, whether that's digital products, whether that's affiliate sales, whether that is add money, sponsorships. It all comes down to knowing your market, but then from there going out and getting the traffic, getting in front of those people, not just buyers, we can turn them into buyers later and in the meantime, even if they don't buy a physical product from you, there are ways to monetize that and that's where the profits come in. All right, so again, ECON Biz book.com if you have not grabbed that, it's going to come in handy when we get to this part, this stage. All right, so here's what I want to do.

04:50   I want to give you guys a challenge. All right, and the challenges after I go through this, I want you to commit to this. All right? Now I said that you can do this in 90 days. Now again, I can't guarantee your results. I can't guarantee that your market is going to lend itself to this kind of traffic. It may take a little bit longer. It may take a few years, I don't know, but what I will tell you is this. I've seen this happen over and over again, that when you get attention, traffic in a market, you can pretty much see a return on that investment of time, whether that's them sharing some of your products or going out there and buying some of your products or maybe clicking on ads on your website or some of your affiliate offers. So I can't guarantee it for everyone, but what I can say is this has worked for me, so I'm going to share with you what's worked for me.

05:40   Also, some people that I know, and to me, it's not going away. And if you want to compete in your market right now, and if you're only selling on Amazon, you definitely have to do this. Um, some people that are starting, they're like, well, I don't have a product yet. I gotta wait til I get a product. It might take three months, it might take six months. I say, you know what? Don't worry about that right now. Do this. And then you can do that other thing. I'm aside. Or You can do it when you build up this traffic, once you start to build out your brand. Cause this is what we're doing. This is the foundation, uh, inside of building a brand. All right? So let's get to it. First thing you need to know about your market, and again, I want you to go through this.

06:21   I'm going to link this all up in bullet points on the show notes as well. So if you want to go to the amazing seller.com forward slash six 74, you'll get all of the details there. So definitely check that out. All right, so here's number one, right? Like number one thing that you need to understand is what do they want? All right, what do they want? Now, I don't mean just products. Products are good, but what do they want? All right. Now, if we are talking about the best fishing market as we've done in the past, right? So if, if I'm going after the bass fishing market, what do they want? Well, pretty much they want to catch more bass, right? They want to go out and fish and they want to catch bass. Now some people, including myself, I've went fishing in the past, uh, with my father and you know, I said, you know, even if I just go out there and I don't catch a thing, it's just, it's a good day cause I'm there spending time with my dad, we're hanging out, we're having coffee together, whatever.

07:15   Right? So maybe that even plays into it. What do they want? They want a peaceful morning, right? They want to be able to go out there and catch some fish to show off in front of their friends, like whatever, right? Like what do they want? But for the most part, if people are going fishing, they want to know how to catch more fish, right? Or they might need to know how to buy different accessories for a certain boat or you know, or maybe they need to repair their boat or maybe they need to repair their poll, right? There's all of these things. So what do they want? You need to get very clear on what that is. All right? So way that you can do that, and I do, I go through this in Econ Biz book.com if you go over there, you'll, you'll see inside of that guide, I go through exactly how to do this, but I'll give you guys the overview.

07:58   What you do is you go to youtube or Google or Yahoo or bing, like any of the search engines and you type in how to, and then put in bass fishing and then see what comes up. Or then once you start understanding what they're buying or what they are searching for, you can then do other searches off of that. So if it's a how to catch bass in a pond, you might say how to catch bass and then see what else comes up. Or you might say best a bass lure and then it'll, it'll autofill. So a lot of the auto fills works really good. The other thing that you can do is use a tool. There's one called keywords everywhere. I think that's the name of it. Again, I'll link this stuff up and you can do some searches. As you're doing searches, you're going to start to see how much search volume it gets.

08:46   A Google has their own for ad. Um, I believe it's ad words. There's other ones out there. It doesn't really matter which one you use. You're just getting an idea of what type of is out there. You can use Google trends, there's all different types of tools. There's free, there's paid at this point, I don't really care what you use. You can even just use a youtube and just start doing autofill auto suggest. And those are going to be good ones to start with. All right? You're going to want to create a list of topics and product reviews and unboxings. All right? So again, step one, what do they want? Okay, step two, create a list of topics from what they want searches, right? So you're gonna kind of do that leg work. All right? And then from there you're gonna also see other product reviews that other people have done in that market.

09:31   And then you're also going to look at some unboxings. Unboxings are really, really cool to do. Now, here's something that you can do and I actually just suggested this to one of my students and I already did an episode on this, but I'll just give you a little bit of a recap. If you said, you know what, I'm going to just take 52 different products that that that, that the market is using or that they're talking about or that they need and I'm going to basically take the products that I currently have. I might have 10 or 15 of them and I'm just going to do a review on each one of those. And I don't mean to review like you know, here's the product and I like it, great buy, it's more of a review of like what you like about it, what you don't like about it, what you wish was different on it and just give really like honest feedback on it.

10:18   And I mean I don't know about you but I've looked at that stuff when I'm getting a podcasting mic. I'd go and I'd listen to other people sampling at sea, you know what they were saying about it, what was the best one to use if you were in a, a small room versus a recording in an auditorium or a pop screen or any of that stuff, right? So that stuff is going to start to happen as you continually look and, and really dig into the market. But when you're reviewing top products, here's the thing. Now if I'm looking at a road microphone, well I can do a rode microphone video and then people that are searching for a road podcasting microphone, those people are podcasters that are looking for that, right? And I know this is a little bit off topic cause I was talking about bass fishing, but I'm going down this line now.

11:01   You get what I'm saying? Right? And so what, what happened is if someone's searching for like me, uh, best rode podcasting mic, and if I come up, they know that I just reviewed this thing and I might be the person that's giving them tips and advice on equipment for recording or a podcasting or whatever, right? So you can piggyback off a name brands. So if all you did, if your challenge was, you know what, I'm not going to worry about how to content right now. I'm going to worry about just doing product reviews on all of these different products that are tied back to my market. All right? And that's similar to what one of my listeners did and I had him on where he does distilling and uh, and he did a basically a journey of him over the, over the year 52 to 52 weeks of different, uh, different things that he was doing in the process of learning how to do distilling.

11:52   So that's another, if you're not an expert, you don't have to be just document every week something that you're doing as you're learning that hobby or your learning that interest of yours or whatever, right? That's a way that you can produce content on a regular basis. Here's the thing, when people think about this, they're like, okay, I'm going to do this. And then they, they do like two videos and then they're done, right? The key is consistency and committing and understand this really, really let this sink in. Every single piece of content you're creating is an asset that lives out there on the Internet. We call that evergreen content and I'll tell you exactly like how to post it, where to post it and kind of like that stuff in, in this little checklist here that I have kind of mapped out that I'm reading through right now, I've kind of bullet pointed everything out.

12:34   Like if I'm sitting down with you and we're having a cup of coffee, like I'm saying, like this is what you need to do. Okay? Like don't think anything else right now. Just think this. All right, so again, create a list of topics and products to review an unboxings. If you get a new product, fire up the camera, unbox it, here's what it comes with it. Here's the packaging. Ooh, look at that case. That's really cool. How they package that. I mean, you guys have seen, uh, you know, apple products being unboxed. I've seen all kinds like of different unboxings and I've watched them and people love watching them. They like to see what's going to be included in the box. Um, again, another way to get people to raise their hand by them showing that they are watching your stuff or commenting on your stuff, and then that traffic is going to start coming in.

13:18   All right? So commit to shooting one video per week. All right? So if all you did right now you're, you're, you're thinking, you're like, oh, Scott, you know, I don't know about picking a product and launching it on Amazon. I'm gonna have to spend three to $5,000. I'm not sure if it's going to work. And then I'm competing with everyone else. Forget about that for a minute. Just pause that timeout, right? Just call a time out and then do this. But you got to know your market. You got to know the direction that you're going in. And then once you do that, just start mapping this stuff out, all right? And then shoot one video per week. It does not have to be polished. It does not have to be professional. It has to be a video that gives good information and you post it.

14:00   And you'll get better as you do them. I guarantee you, when you post the first video to the 52nd video, you're going to get better as you keep producing video. All right? So one video per week, commit to that. This is your challenge. All right? Do it for 90 days, okay? So do it for three months. If you do it for three months, I can almost guarantee you're going to now be in a rhythm and you're going to have momentum because you've been taking action. And then from there you're going to keep doing it. It's like anything. If I can just get you to do it for three months, you'll probably do it for another three. All right? Cause then you're gonna start to see some results, okay? Whether that's traffic or comments or likes, and then you're gonna be like, Oh crap, there's people actually paying attention.

14:37   That's attention, which turns into traffic, which turns into profit, okay? And diversifying your revenue streams, which we'll talk about here in a minute. Then once you post the video, okay, don't get crazy with all, I got to figure out how to keyword and optimize and all that stuff. Just say what it is. Okay. It really, really basic stuff. You can, you can get technical later if you want to, but the title is the most important part, just like on an Amazon listing. And then from there just you know if you're going to do a review on a, let's say the pro fishing rod 5,000 right? I know that's kind of generic, but you get what I'm saying, right? It's a, it's a name brand. It's something that people have searched for in the past. I'm a guitar player, so maybe it is the George Lynch Signature Ltd Guitar, right?

15:23   Maybe that's the one and then I'm going to do a review on that. So anybody that that is searching for that and that finds that if I'm selling guitar stuff or potentially going to be doing training on how to play Guitar, a metal guitar or whatever, like those people that are watching that are that target market. So that's what we want to do. So don't get crazy with having to figure out everything right now. We can always tweak that stuff later. The important part is shooting the video and posting it. All right, so where do you post? At first, you posted on Youtube. Okay, Youtube is where you want to start. Also look at other channels that have already posted videos on those topics. What did they use for keywords? What did they use as far as in their description? All right, so just look and see what other people have done in model.

16:08   Don't copy it verbatim, but get inspiration from them. Okay, so post it on Youtube. The next step, you need to have a website slash. Blog. This is so important to have this. All right. This is what we call our home base. I talk a lot about it in Ebf, our full training, our full home study course, and I also talk about it in the EBF book, the ECOMM Biz book.com book. So if you haven't grabbed it and go grab it, there's my little shameless plug. All right, it's, I'm telling you guys that rate there. We'll walk you through this process okay in detail so you can just map it all out. But I'm going to give you everything right here. You just got to see it better inside of that guide. But let's move on. So you need that website. I actually had a, a student of mine recently say, you know, what about Squarespace?

16:53   Can I just set up a website there? I don't prefer that. I would prefer you to create a web address through Godaddy or a domain name through Godaddy. And then from there I would purchase a hosting on either hostgator or bluehost. Either one. I've used both. I like hostgator, the the best so far. Um, and then from there you want to just install a free wordpress theme. All right? And you don't have to get crazy with all, I got to have a custom theme and stuff. Not right now. You don't need that right now, which you need is just to post and get it there and get it live. Okay. The one thing about the name that I want to mention and I talked to my student about this is when you're creating the name versus it just being like a pro bass, fishing.com. What I would rather see you do is something a little bit more broad.

17:41   So this way here you can have other verticals inside of that. So for example, if I was going to do that, I would maybe be the ultimate, uh, fishing experience.com. And then that way there I can talk about bass fishing, I can talk about deep sea fishing, I can talk about fly fishing, I can talk about any type of fishing I want. And at first I might say I'm only going to focus on the bass fishing. So I'm going to just build out that part of the, of the home base. And then I'm going to start to add those other ones later. But it gives me the flexibility to do that. The other thing is, is you definitely want to, uh, look at the domain name or your name and make sure that it's not trademarked. Um, and I would just go to USP, t o I believe that's what it is.

18:18   I'll leave the link to the trademark website where you can go in and do a quick search. Uh, that's not always 100%. So if you're thinking to yourself like this could be trademark, then you might want to go and hire either a legal zoom or someone that is an attorney that can help you with that. Uh, just to do a, a better search just to make sure of that. All right, so from there, we've got our blog set up now. Now what we want to do is we want to take that youtube video and embed it inside of our blog. All right, inside of that blog, that content, that post. All right. And from there what I want to do is I also want to write a summary about the video because youtube is video and you know, uh, the blog is, you know, words on a page, right?

19:06   So we want to give the blog what Google wants and that's words, right? So they can index those. And then on youtube we want to give it video. But here's the cool thing. Youtube has been transcribing behind the scenes so that way they're there, they're bots can actually scrape the video for what it is. So one little Ninja tip here, when you're creating those videos, the very first thing that you want to do, and like the first, I would say 10 seconds, is say exactly what you're going to be talking about. So, hey guys, it's Scott here and today I'm going to show you the pro bass fishing rod 5,000 and why this thing is awesome, right? So I just mentioned that the brand name in there, that's my keyword that if people are searching for, I want them to be able to pick it up from that, uh, that video or the transcription that they are doing behind the scenes.

19:51   Just a little, a little tip there. All right, so that's what you do posted on the blog. You've got your youtube video that's now embedded there. We write a little summary about it. And the other thing you can do is you can go to rev.com or temi.com and uh, either one, they're owned by the same company. Timmy does about a 95% accurate a transcription and then rev is done by a person. So it's 100%. Um, I think rev right now is a dollar per minute and I think Tammy is 10 cents per minute. I use both. They work great. Um, and again I'm going to link all this up in the show notes. All right. Now once you do that, you've got that post on your blog. You've got your youtube video residing on another platform. She got two pieces of content that are really one piece of content.

20:37   They're just there. They're spread out amongst two different channels. All right? Now I would create a Facebook fan page. Now I'm not creating the fan page necessarily to get, although I can get traffic because if someone does land on my Facebook fan page, they can share it. That's why I use a fan page. Two reasons. It's sharable in, I can start to run ads through my Facebook fan page when I'm ready. So that's something you're going to need eventually. So why not just set it up and create the brand experience where you're on social youtube, you know you're on your blog, you've got these different assets kind of built out. All right, and again, the Facebook page isn't necessarily a traffic generator yet, but it can be. Alright. Now the next part of this process is the email list. All right? So I would start with what I just went over, but I wouldn't wait 52 weeks to create my email list.

21:29   I would do that immediately, right? As soon as you, you kind of done all the research, what are the videos, what are the unboxings, what are the reviews that you're going to do on the, on the products and all that stuff. Get that mapped out. Maybe shoot a video or two or four if you're going to do a batch. And then from there start thinking about the email list. A great way to do this, to jumpstart it is to, to do a contest or giveaway, uh, when the ultimate bass fishing kit, a $200 value. And then you can advertise it either through a Facebook ad, you can go to Instagram influencers or you can just go and reach out to people that you think would be a good fit to, to promote it or let their audience know about it. All right. Um, I would say in the beginning you're probably gonna have to drive a little bit of paid traffic to it or you can just reach out to someone on Instagram that has a pretty decent following and then ask if they would mention it in a post and then you would pay them.

22:20   We've done this in the past as a, as a little experiment in the sneaker market, uh, in the sneaker head market. And Instagram was perfect for that. And uh, we, I think we spent about 125 bucks on a post and it was a million people that were following this post. And we've got over five or 600 emails almost within 12 hours. And I think we capped out at about a thousand with just that one push. So you know, 125 bucks for a thousand emails of people that all raise their hand because they were sneaker heads. All right? So that's a way to do it as well. Now again, sometimes people say, well, the contest, it's going to attract people that are, you know, free. You know, free seekers, you know they're looking for a deal and that's true to some extent, but then you weed them out after you start to email that list over time.

23:04   All right? So then what you're gonna do, once you build the email list or you start building the email list, you're going to then start emailing the list about your new content. All right? So see, we get the topic, we create the video we embedded on you or we posted on Youtube, we post it on our blog and we let our email list know, hey, we just posted a new video on the blog. Go check it out. Or if you want to drive them to youtube because you want to get subscribers on there. Hey, just shot a new video on youtube, go check it out like so. It actually helps when you are, uh, when you're just starting because now we can get eyeballs on that pretty quickly. All right? And then we can also see how engaged our email list is. All right? So that's what you want to do.

23:43   The last thing you want to do is you want to this 11 times or more over the next 90 days, three months, okay? 11, 12 weeks, all right? Make sure that you commit to this or you have nothing to lose a little bit of time, yes, but you're going to learn through this process. You're going to be building assets in a market that you can then sell product two, but you can also start generating profit. Now, here's where the profit comes in. All right? After you start to, and almost immediately, right? If you post an unboxing video of um, you know, the fishing rod prob 5,000 and, and there's a, and they're selling on Amazon, well, you can use your Amazon associates, link your ear affiliate link and drop it in the description below. It doesn't matter if you get five people to watch the video, there's a chance that they can actually click in that description and by that, and the other cool thing is, is if you're using an Amazon link, it's active for 24 hours that anything that that person puts in their shopping cart, you get credit for.

24:45   All right? So you can pretty much, if someone clicked on it and went over there and bought something, you could almost get some money in the door immediately. Now, I'm not saying that's going to happen. That would be kind of rare, but I've seen it happen. All right? But the big takeaway here is if you create a video or a piece of content, a blog post, there's a chance that someone will find it because they're searching for what you've just created. So just keep that in mind. You're creating an asset that can attract your market, okay? And as they do that, you're going to start building up traffic. Now, here's the cool thing, over time, as you build traffic, now we have, uh, a blog that we have in our physical products brand and we're getting 250,000 impressions per month. It's taken about 18 months to get there.

25:36   But that's a lot of impressions. And the cool thing is, is we're getting ad money through an ad network for every impression that we display to someone that lands on our blog. Even if we just send someone over from our email list, whatever we're getting paid. Now from that, in the tune of 2,700, actually it was a little bit more in $2,700 at the time of recording this $2,700 from people landing on the blog, not even buying anything, just that they're the impressions you're getting paid. All right, so this is what I'm talking about as far as getting traffic and profiting during the process. All right, so again, let me just give you guys a quick little recap here. I know that was a lot to digest. First off, you need to start with your market. You need to know where they're hanging out. If you don't know who your market is yet, if you haven't picked a market yet, then you need to go grab the, uh, the book that I created, ECOMM Biz book.com.

26:32   That's where that's located. Go grab it, go through it. It's a quick read 52 pages. It'll give you pictures and it'll lead you through exactly how to do that. Okay. From there, we need to figure out what they want. All right? And we can do that by going over to youtube. By Google, I mean, you know, just different, even go on Facebook and see what people are talking about, figuring out what they, what they want, what they're looking for. The other thing that you want to do, and this is the third part, is create lists of topics and products that you can review. Unboxings all of that stuff. Start to create those lists. Okay? Then from there, you need to commit, all right? To shoot one video per week. What I would do is I would shoot for in one day, I'd get the four topics and that we had, once I get set up, I get a tripod, I get my, my camera, I get in front of maybe some window light and I shoot the videos.

27:21   And then from there we just chop it up. All right? So once we chop that, are those videos up, then from there we can then schedule them to post one per week. And if we post one per week, now we have those, those different videos residing on, on, whether it's youtube or whether it's on are actually both on our blog. And then from there we can start to show up every single week. All right, so then what we're going to do once we posted on Youtube, we're going to then post it on our blog. We're going to write the summary, we're going to have it transcribed. Like I said, if you use 10 cents, uh, per minute on Temi, you're talking like a few bucks, like not much depending on how long your video is. All right? So really, really simple to do. Uh, the other thing I kind of skipped over was you have to create that, that home base, right?

28:05   The blog, the website. Um, but that's a given. Okay. And then from there, posted on Facebook on your page again. So if you don't have your page, you've got to create that page. It takes you about 10 minutes to set up a page. All right? And then from there, create the email list. Think about what your, what your market would raise their hand for. I like using contest for this. I'm in the beginning especially. And then from there, share it on social. All right? Or drive paid ads to it, or go find an influencer in your market and see if they'd be willing to push it for, you know, a hundred bucks or whatever. All right? And then from there, once you build that email list and you start building and do not wait, send them stuff immediately. So as you're doing this, you're gonna have a new video every week, right?

28:47   So every week you can then let them know that you've got something new. Hey, just posted a new video. Five ways to catch more, more bass in the pond, right? Uh, five new lures, you have to try this weekend or this one or changed how I fish, right? Like just different subject lines, headlines that get people to want to read your email and then give them those things. Right? But you're going to know these things by the research that you did as far as what they want, what's going to get them to raise their hand and an email. Okay. So email your list with the new content that you've created and you can push them over to youtube, push them over to your blog, push them over to Facebook wherever you want. I would prefer probably at first I would push them over to youtube for a few just to kind of get some subscribers and then I would probably start to push them to the blog and uh, probably mix that up.

29:37   But you see what's happening here. We have the content, then we have the email list. We told the email list about the new content, and then from there we start to get traffic. And that also helps to amplify the content and get other people to see it that aren't even on the email list yet. All right, so that is your challenge. All right, go through this process. All right. Getting traffic to me is the new currency. This here will allow you to not only get the traffic to come in to buy more stuff, but also where you can leverage that traffic and monetize that traffic with ads, with affiliate offers or sponsored posts, right? Because you have the traffic. The other byproduct of this that a lot of people don't talk about once you learn how to do this, by doing it, you have a skill set now like you can, you can use that all the way through the rest of your business journey.

30:28   Like there's people right now that would pay you to get them traffic to their local business or to their online business. Traffic to me is king. A lot of people say content is king. Yes it is because it gets traffic. But traffic. If you can get traffic, if you know how to get traffic, whether that's paying ads, whether that's you know, social or whether that's blog content, whatever it is, traffic to me is king. If you can get traffic, get eyeballs to get attention, it's a better chance you can sell stuff and I think we'd agree on that. And then that will turn into profit and you can diversify that business. If you're listening to this and you are just selling your product on Amazon right now, I encourage you to do this. Highly encourage you to do this. All right? Because I can almost guarantee that most businesses on Amazon that are selling only on Amazon are not doing this.

31:21   And you don't. What you can do to even check this out for yourself, look at some of your competitors and look on the Internet for them, like search Google for their brand name and see where they're showing up. Look at their Facebook page, look at their website, right? See if they have an email capture on their site, like see if they're doing anything. Look on Youtube, see if they're doing anything there. You're going to be surprised that most of them are not doing anything. And that's a huge advantage for you. So once you get the traffic, once you have the email list, you have the traffic on your blog, you're going to be able to then when you launch a product or you run out of inventory, you can spike the sales and then get ranked again. And then your competition is gonna be like, I don't know how to, how they're doing it right?

32:02   Because they don't know how to get traffic. And the other cool thing is, and a byproduct is you're going to also be able to get additional revenue profits from those other, those other channels that we talked about, which is pretty exciting.
