Start With The End In Mind
The very first thing you should do when you're starting your own brand is to start with your end in mind. Think about where you want to be in twelve months and what your end goal is. Keep in mind that you also need to set realistic expectations. You may need to re-evaluate your goals if you're expectations aren't possible within the timeframe that you have set for yourself.
Whether you're looking to grow a side gig or working to make enough money to replace your current income, it can be done if you set realistic goals. It's also important to recognize that it takes time to grow a successful brand. In reality, most businesses don't make money their first year. If you're lucky, you may be able to break even and pay the bills. I want to make sure that you are realistic so you can achieve the goals you're working so hard to accomplish.
The key is to work backward once you've identified your end goal.
4 Steps to Reaching Your End Goal
There are four tried and true steps to successfully reach your goal when you work backward.
1st Step: Simplify
It can be tempting to want to overcomplicate things and spend too much time in one area because it comes easy for us. However, you need to focus on adding less to your plate, not more.
2nd Step: Commit
When you commit to something, you're saying that you're going to get it done, no matter what. You're not going to allow any excuses to get in your way. It's important to commit to yourself first and foremost. You need to commit that you're going to keep moving forward for the next twelve months. Remember, as I mentioned earlier, it takes time to grow a brand, so you need to give yourself enough time to achieve the end goal that you've set for yourself.
3rd Step: Stay Consistent
This step goes hand-in-hand with committing to your goal. You need to stay consistent by sticking to your goal and staying consistent with the plan you've set for yourself.
4th Step: Create a Plan
In order to make sure everything works smoothly, you need to write out a step-by-step plan for yourself. Once you have your target goal in mind, you're going to chunk it down into weekly and daily tasks. What can you do every day this week that will help you take baby steps that will get you one step closer to your long-term goal? Even accomplishing something small every day will help you take strides to accomplish your goal.
It can be difficult not to get sidetracked by all the shiny objects out there, but it's important to stay focused and work on your weekly and daily tasks.
It's especially important to write out your step-by-step plan in detail. Keep in the same spot every day, simialr to a daily journal that you can write in regularly. Every week you should sit down and map out the coming week. A huge secret to success is chunking down your goal and dividing it out into weekly and daily activities.
When you show up and put in the hard work, your daily tasks will get done much quicker than you think. This way, you're constantly moving forward and moving one step closer to your goal. You have to start in order to move forward and start to see success.
I always simplify things when I create my own brands, and I use this exact same process every time. It really does work like a charm.

Yes, Send Me The Roadmap!Create Evergreen Content
You have to diversify when you're creating content. For example, there is only so much content that you can write about kettlebells. However, there is a lot of content options related to exercises that may use kettlebells.
You need to learn your target audience and identify the types of questions that they will ask. From there, you can create content around those topics. Just don't get sidetracked focused on promoting a simple brand or product. Instead, write what your audience wants to read about.
The first thing I would do when you're creating your own brand is to create evergreen content. This is an essential part of your plan.
Evergreen content is a piece of content that you'll create today and will continue to grow and bring traffic to your website for weeks, monthly, and even years to come. That is where it all starts. If you're not there yet, you need to take a step back and evaluate your plan. Evergreen assets are where it's at. If you have a website, you should absolutely be implementing evergreen content as soon as possible.
If there is one thing you take away from this post, think about questions that your market is asking and what type of content you can create that will answer those questions.
Long-tail keywords are going to be much easier to rank for, and you'll be able to get them all written out in no time. I recommend starting with at least ten questions in your market to start.
So many people get hung up on the traffic numbers. Don't overcomplicate the process. When you're starting, the question you need to ask is if those specific questions need to be on your website and if it's what your audience wants. This will teach you how to optimize content and drive organic traffic to your website. It'll become easier with time.
I also recommend that you set up a schedule for writing your blog posts, so you know when you're going to get it done. Check-in with yourself on a weekly and daily basis to keep yourself in line and make sure that you stick with the deadlines that you've set for yourself. Make 2021 the year that you're going to stay committed and stay consistent with your goals.
Start Building Your Email List Today
Without your email list, you can't grow your brand or reach out to your subscribers to find out what additional content they are looking for.
Once you start to build out your list, you'll send weekly emails that drive traffic back to your evergreen content. You'll also be able to send promotions to your email list. When you create a lead magnet and digital products, you'll start by promoting to your subscribers. Email provides you insight into your market that you otherwise wouldn't have, get help from your subscribers to build the right content, and build trust with your list.
Create Digital Products for Affiliates
You can tap into another revenue stream by joining affiliate programs within your niche and become an affiliate for a specific brand or product. From there, you can create content related to the brand you're affiliated with and link to the products or services that you promote. When someone signs up using your link, you'll get a commission.
You could also consider creating bonus content that your audience will get if they purchase using your link, They won't pay any extra, but you'll give them an extra incentive to buy using your link. You always have to be upfront and honest with your audience when you create affiliate content. This will help to build trust and show that you are willing to be open and honest with your audience.
