Email list building is so powerful and doesn't have to be hard. It's a powerful marketing tool and will give you insight into your market, help you create better content, and get people to tell you what they want you to create that they can buy from you.

Email Marketing Is a Powerful Communication Channel 

A common question that I get asked all the time is, “will email still work?” A lot of people are hesitant to focus on growing their email list as they aren't sure if it's still valuable. I'm here to tell you that email is still one of the most powerful communication channels out there. It's something that I focus heavily on now and will continue to focus on in the foreseeable future. 

In fact, because I find it so beneficial, I've created a complete training workshop on email marketing. I believe that email will still be a huge driver for business, content, and getting feedback from your audience in 2021 and beyond. So, it should be one of the first things you focus on when creating your own brand. 

People still check their email on a regular basis. This is a great way to reach out to your audience and deliver value to your audience. 

If you're going to be using email in 2021, follow-up, delivering value, and being transparent with your audience is going to be something that will separate you from the competition. I want you to think about and focus on those things when you're crafting emails for your subscribers. What can you do to build trust and show that you genuinely care about providing them with valuable content that will help them? 

Start With a Lead Magnet That Attracts the Right People 

The very first step that you start with is to create a lead magnet that attracts people within your niche. This is an effective way to grow your email list from the start. 

I don't like the idea of a generate newsletter sign-up. Your sign up rate is going to be very low if you go with this approach. The problem is that you're not giving your audience one specific thing you're going to help them with. 

You need to create something that helps them solve a specific problem that they're looking to solve. It can be a quick solution, something that provides them with value early on. This will show them that you offer value and make it easier for them to trust you later when you have a product for sale. 

The key is to be laser targeted with those who want to attract. You need to get very specific for the best results. You only want to reach people who will be genuinely interested in the lead magnet that you create. It's ok to have a smaller list. Even if you start out with 500 subscribers, you can do a lot with that. Within a few months, it will pay off if you target the right people. 

You are helping one person at a time. Each person is an individual who opens your emails. You need to speak to that one person. Your language and dialogue will change when you're focused on reaching a specific individual and helping them with their needs. It will come across as a more personal communication and build trust. 

Always Follow Up With Your Email Subscribers 

Follow-up is critical for your success in building your email list. You will build a better relationship and make more money when you focus on following up regularly. The main thing here isn't necessary to sell something to your subscribers. Instead, it's about growing a bond and relationship with your subscribers. 

Always focus on creating value and providing goodwill. This is especially important before and after promotions. You should always follow up. Your email list isn't just to sell things to your subscribers. Instead, you should provide regular value and content that will help them. 

If you're building an email list, be sure to deliver on your promise. If a person signs up for a lead magnet, deliver what they signed up for, and be sure to include a thank you page. After that, you should be checking in with them and providing them with content directly from your website. This will build over time. It doesn't matter how small your list is. You should be doing this from the very beginning. 

Utilize the Naked Email

This is a very important concept. Ask open-ended questions to your subscribers. Ask your audience what they need help with or where they're stuck. This will allow you to have a back and forth conversation. I recommend that you always respond back to these people when they reply. Keep track of duplicate responses so you can see what people in your niche need help with. This will allow you to get intel and provide valuable content that your audience needs. 

Create Content That Helps Your Audience 

Use the information you collect from your naked email to create content that your subscribers ask for. From there, you can send out an email letting people know that you've created that content. By asking peoples questions, you're setting yourself up as an expert and authoritative figure within your market. This will also show that you value your subscriber's option and encourage attention feedback later on. 

You can also take the data that you get from the naked email and create your own digital products around questions within your market. This will ensure that you create something that you know people want and would be willing to buy.
