RYB 926: Predictions for 2021 and Really Good News for Us!

By Scott Voelker •  Updated: 12/28/20 •  9 min read

Welcome back. I'm so happy to have you here! Today, I'm going to share a recent coffee talk that I need all about my predictions for 2021. I'm going to share what I'm going to focus on and where I see the best growth opportunities. I also want to share my thoughts about where you should be focusing your energy and thoughts and detailing it out for you.

If you're already a part of our morning crew, I encourage you to head over to takeactioncrew.com to sign up. You can join for free, and you'll get access to our specialty player that will allow you to search through all the past coffee talks and find every instance where I mentioned that particular topic.

I'm also going to help you identify what your business plan should look like in 2021, how you can break it down, and the best way to figure out what works for you. I'm not saying that what I'm predicting is 100% accurate. However, you are in control of your own life and can adjust your actions when needed.

Right now, it's still pretty crazy, and the world is still not close to the way that it was before the pandemic. However, we need to look into the future a little bit. We need to see how we can grow our business and move past the difficulties that we've faced this past year. We can only change what we can control.

There are plenty of opportunities and things that we can do to make the most of our current situation, and it's time to start moving forward and stop dwelling on the past. So, sit back, relax, and let's get right to it.

The trend that I see is that people are going to be shopping online more than ever, and this trend will continue to thrive in the coming months. It's a fact that there are more people than ever that have things delivered to them.

People will also be consuming more content more than they ever have before. This is because people are spending much more time at home and looking for ways to fix their current situation. They may not be able to get out and find the information they need, so they are relying on their own research, the internet, and content to help them find the valuable information they're looking for.

More people than ever will want to try and move their current business online in the coming year, and there will be others who are looking to create an online business. This means that there is going to be a lot more competition than there was before. However, I think there is plenty of room out there for everyone.

What separates you from the competition is you and how you communicate and teach your audience. There is no one else in the world like you. I wouldn't worry about your competition. Instead, focus on showing up consistently on a regular business and doing your very best to plant seeds today that will allow you to see rewards later on.

Avoid Shiny Objects in Your Business

The reality is that many people are going to try and start a business that follows current trends or shiny objects. Things that will provide them with instant success. This upsets me because these people are being led down a road that has minimal chances of success.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to creating a successful business. Without a brand, a home base, and regular content, it's really hard to create a successful business.

There are people who will buy a thousand units of a physical product and plan on that to be their entire business. That product is most likely going to fail. Now can that happen if you have a full-fledged business? Yes, however, you'll have a much better chance of success if you have a brand and a long term business plan in place.

Ask yourself what niche you're serving and what type of content you could create that would lead people in and turn them into a paying customer. I highly recommend that you have your website and content ready to go while you're waiting for your product to arrive if you're selling physical products.

You should also consider running ads and create brand awareness beforehand, so people know about your brand and are more likely to buy when your products are ready.

As I said before, there will always be people looking for a shortcut and will give up when they don't see the success they expect. They'll try something for a few weeks and will move on when it doesn't work as quickly as they'd like.

I don't like calling it a failure because they don't go through the necessary process. Instead, they just give up and move on. You can speed things up by building awareness, creating an email list, and creating content. It still takes time but can help you move along fairly quickly.

If you stay the course and stay committed, you'll go far. If you keep moving forward, you'll eventually see some sort of success. You need to think about building a brand and put in the time you'll have a much greater chance to succeed, especially when those around you are giving up. Be willing to learn through the process and pivot when needed.

Create a Plan for Success

You'll get a lot more done when you sit down and have a plan. Write out your week in advance. You'll be able to keep a much better schedule this way when you have a plan and know what needs to be done beforehand.

You can get a lot done if you know where you're going. You need to ask yourself how you're going to achieve your goals. Once you have overarching goals in place, you can easily take a step back and create smaller goals that will feedback into your business and help you accomplish your goals one step at a time.

Many people will give up because they'll feel like they have to do everything all at once. Instead, take it one step at a time. You'll start to see results, which will help motivate and drive you to continue to put in the time, especially on the days that you don't see results.

Action Equals Results

You can't play in the game if you don't get in the game. It's that simple. There are five areas that you need to focus on. The first is to validate your niche and identify your market. Once you're done with that, you're done with that part of the process.

This will provide a place to help you get where you'd like to go and make sure that your niche has potential. You'll always want to keep learning more about your market and getting feedback.

The second is to build a solid foundation. This will include some setup that you'll only have to do once, including building out your website, completing SEO research, and creating content. You'll continue to do a lot of this, but it'll get easier once you've learned the process the first time around.

The third stage is list building. My favorite type is email list building and driving traffic to your website. Again, once you've learned that process, you'll continue to practice as time goes on, and you'll continue to bring in new leads. You'll always be learning to get better at it.

Stage four involves monetization. You'll learn how to write better articles that incorporate products that you can make money on. This doesn't mean that you have to always promote your own products. You can always refer people and make a commission. There are plenty of opportunities to make money once you have the content written.

The last stage is growth. You'll implement the other four stages, learn from them, and keep practicing to see the best results.

There is always an opportunity for people like you and me who are ready to focus, put in the time, and get things done. You don't have to feel stuck coming into 2021. Avoid chasing shiny objects and focus on getting started and taking it one step at a time.

This is done by outlining what you're trying to achieve and go backward. I recommend committing to yourself at least one hour a day, seven hours a week, to get the most done.

Thanks For Tuning in!
